Community Rights

Rights 2 Every ratepayers and residents have the civil rights to expect good governance behaviors and actions by all Councillors and Council staff.

This means, they have rights to expect the following principles to be reflected in Council’s communications, problem solving, decision making and all its other activities:

Good Governance Principles

The tools that the community can use to exercise their rights via using:

  • MRI advocacy support services, which includes giving  individuals or groups who are registered members, access to an incorporated platform to have a formal community voice, and learning and problem solving facilitation services that apply the Victorian Good Governance Guide and other best practices.
  • Local on-line petition tools such as Soap BoxxChange.org.
  • Plan your on-line communication strategy and setup your website or blog using tools like word.press to realise part of it
