MRI will conduct many case studies about Council operations and other matters. The purpose of these case studies is to:
- Analyse current operations and services, to understand gaps and facilitate solution taking actions
- Educate ratepayers of the strengths and weakness of Council operations and corporate governance.
The first case study is about the defined benefit superannuation liability exposure, which will all ratepayers have to eventually pay, unless Federal or State Government agrees to amend the Local Government Act to relieve ratepayers of paying out this liability.
The second case study consolidates many of the dirty games being reported in the 2012 election. Apparently, this election has been considered the most dirtiest one to date.
The 3rd case study reports some existing and desired cases of good governance practices in Councils.
